For more than a quarter of a century, Baylor has treated patients with spinal cord injury (SCI) to help increase independence and quality of life. Following injury, we immediately start an intensive physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy regimen that is designed to maximize your potential outcome. Overseeing every patient are board-certified physicians specializing in SCI and incorporate rehabilitation technologies, assistive walking devices, SCI education and a multitude of services specific to SCI patients.

The Neurological Recovery Center is a unique PT practice whose professionals are dedicated to serving a clientele seeking the highest level of personalized one-on-one care. NRIC has some of the most advanced robotics systems for intensive Gait therapy and upper extremity functional rehabilitation.

The CARF-accredited Spinal Cord Rehabilitation Program at Texas Rehabilitation Hospital of Fort Worth offers comprehensive rehabilitation for spinal cord injuries, either traumatic or non-traumatic, for patients needing a specialized and coordinated process to amplify a patient’s physical, emotional, and psychological ability. 

UT Southwestern Medical Center’s Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation team is committed to helping patients achieve the highest possible level of physical, functional and cognitive independence after an injury or illness. Physicians (all board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation), researchers and therapists are among the most respected in the nation. UT Southwestern offers integrated, comprehensive programs staffed by a team of physicians, nurse practitioners, rehabilitation nurses, rehabilitation psychologists, therapists (physical, occupational, speech and recreational) and rehabilitation counselors.
